Just think about that.

Everything from those first cave paintings in southern France, the hieroglyphics on Egyptian burial tombs, the first elementary Chinese character on a fragment of ancient earthenware, right the way through to that final email you sent on new year’s eve 2002; all of that and everything in between. He has certainly had plenty of time to ponder his future. But in the decade that he had been the world’s most wanted man, how often had he objectively reviewed the success of his bloody campaign to rid the Islamic world not just of western influence but of any influence other than his own brand of extreme jihad? From MAD to MAP

Two pieces of news grabbed my attention this week. First, carmaker Toyota has now suspended car production in Turkey, Poland, France, the UK and the USA as the knock on effect of the Japan earthquake continues to disrupt the finely tuned supply chains that have been one of the hallmarks of Toyota’s global efficiency. New balls please as we enter the chicane – UK Bribery Act Guidance

At last!

The UK Bribery Act is to come into force on 1 July now that the British government has eventually published guidance on how the new law will be applied. Much of the delay has been around the treatment and status of corporate entertainment. Now the Justice Secretary has clarified that no one is going to be stopped “taking clients to Wimbledon or a Grand Prix.” [Read more…]
